From Mumbai to Bengaluru, netizens have been impressed with cops upping their social media game, and putting out tweets and viral posts sprinkled with witty pop culture references and puns. When Cognito was approached by the Vadodara City Police, we knew it was going to be a tough act to follow. The brief was exciting. Create an outreach mechanism that would help the police connect with the youth of the city - a segment that hardly comes in contact with the police and thus might fester many misplaced notions because of hearsay and pop-culture narratives.
Took us a while to crack the creative platforms
#PoliceGalatFehmi - shattering myths
#SarkaariMehmaan - acts which could see you end up on the wrong side of the law
#LetsCatchUp - illegal acts which broadly have societal sanction and thus are common place
#JoinTheForce - encouraging bright young people to take up law enforcement as a career
#StrongerTogether - how citizen participation can make the city safer
#DigitalSafety - Staying safe in cyberspace
#TrafficEkSanskar - an existing programme that aims to make good traffic sense second nature
But once we had the framework in place, Cognitoads were on a roll (no pun intended) ;)
